Meet Flavius: Our Area Manager for Western Germany
Interview with Flavius Sorescu, EMEC DE
After a little over six months at EMEC DE, it’s now clear to all of us that bringing Flavius onto the team was an excellent decision. His journey at EMEC has been marked by intensity, determination, and tangible results, and we’re delighted to share his story.
Flavius is 38 years old (still young, as he likes to point out), is married, and is the proud father of a six-month-old boy, who now takes up most of his free time. Born in Romania, his personal history is deeply tied to Germany: at the age of two, shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, his family emigrated to what was then West Germany. His great-grandparents were of German origin, and Flavius’s family history reflects the complexity of 20th-century Europe—a history marked by migration, wars, international tensions, and difficult choices.
What is striking, however, is the serenity and positivity with which Flavius recounts these events—a sign of a family capable of making peace with its past and turning difficulties into a source of strength.
Raised and educated in Germany, Flavius earned a degree in mechanical engineering with a specialization in plastics. After several years of experience in the industrial sector, he entered the field of dosing technologies, where he has gradually built up solid expertise. This career path then led him to EMEC DE, where he joined the company in November as Area Manager for Western Germany.
The start wasn’t easy: the first three months were particularly challenging due to a temporary staff shortage. “It was a tough time,” says Flavius, “but also an extremely formative one.” Working closely with his manager, Thomas, Head of Sales Germany, he gained hands-on experience, deepened his knowledge of the products and markets, and quickly settled into the role. The support of his colleagues in Italy was also crucial, especially in the early stages.
When asked why he chose EMEC, Flavius answers very clearly:
“Thomas and EMEC have given me the opportunity to be independent, to spread my wings, and to work the way I know how.”
Today, that confidence is paying off. “I’m seeing results,” he says. “Last month was fantastic. I’m happy.”
Outside of work, Flavius is currently a full-time dad and enjoys every moment with his little boy. In his free time—when he can find any—he’s passionate about basketball and has coached youth teams, instilling values such as teamwork, discipline, and enthusiasm—the same values he brings to his professional life as well.
Cheerful, dynamic, and highly motivated, Flavius is a valuable asset to EMEC.
